In Sheep’s Clothing Salamanca Market Hobart
In Sheep’s Clothing has operated a stall at Hobart’s Salamanca Market for over 35 years. We keep a limited range of styles, colours and sizes in stock for market customers, so may not have the garment you require on hand when you visit. To avoid disappointment, please contact us if you would like to arrange an order for collection directly from us at the market. We require prior payment and at least 3 weeks notice to have your garment ready when you visit.
Location: (See map) In its early days, Salamanca Market occupied a small area of Salamanca Place in front of the historic old warehouses. It now extends past Parliament House and St. Davids Park to Davey Street. As one of the longest established stalls in the market, In Sheep’s Clothing is in the older market area, near the ‘Silos’ end’. We occupy centre aisle stall 269/270 in the Summer Market, which runs from October to mid May. In winter we occupy the neighbouring stall site 268.
About Salamanca Market
Held in historic Salamanca Place, the famous Hobart Salamanca market attracts thousands of locals and tourists every Saturday. It is Tasmania’s premier tourist attraction and Australia’s biggest and best outdoor market.
The market is a few minutes walk from the city’s central business district, city hotels and car parks. Historic Salamanca Place is renown for its beautiful sandstone warehouses built in the early 1800s. It is close to historic St David’s Park, Kelly’s Steps, Battery Point and Hobart’s picturesque docks and waterfront area.
Salamanca Market is held every Saturday of the year, come rain, hail or shine. Local artists and craftspeople are well represented. You can shop for Tasmanian arts, crafts and locally grown produce from the people who make or grow what they sell.
